Our Big Give Green Match Fund appeal is now open. Please donate before noon on 29 April and your donation will be doubled.
This crucial appeal aims to raise a game-changing £90,000 in just one week. Every pound donated will be doubled from our match pot to transform donors’ generosity into a whopping grand total of £180,000.
The match pot is made up of our supporters’ pledges of £50,000 and £40,000 champion funding from the Big Give. However, if we don’t reach our target – the match funding will be lost.
This is a chance to double your impact and help fund the construction of our critical new lock on the Lichfield Canal, near the junction of Tamworth Road and Cricket Lane.
Christine Howles, Communications and Marketing Trustee at LHCRT, said:
“We have an incredible match-funding pot of £90,000 available to us. This money will double the donations to our Big Give appeal and push forward the construction of our new lock.
If we receive £90,000 in donations, then we will receive the full match pot and reach our target of £180,000.
We need your help – every donation to our Big Give Green Match Fund appeal, big or small, gets doubled at no extra cost to you.
Please donate before 29 April – and see your gift go twice as far!”
The Lichfield Canal will be a vital blue-green corridor from Brownhills to Huddlesford, connecting the Wyrley and Essington Canal to the Coventry Canal, creating valuable connected aquatic, marginal and land habitats. It will also protect against the impacts of climate change through flood attenuation and carbon capture, and improve active travel links, giving great alternatives to carbon-based transport both locally and regionally.
