M6toll has announced a two-year strategic charity partnerships with us as part of its Drive for Charity initiative, focusing on ‘Community and Culture.’
M6toll has a long-standing relationship with LHCRT, as the Lichfield Canal Aqueduct spans the motorway, having been installed before it could open to traffic in 2003.
This new two-year partnership will focus on providing much-needed tools, equipment, and resources for personal and public safety to support the volunteer teams. As more sections of the canal are completed, the need for their maintenance increases. It will also support our education programme with local communities, schools, and Scout groups on restoration and biodiversity projects. LHCRT now has an even greater emphasis on habitat improvements and making contributions to combating climate change through environmental management and recreating channel sections as open water.
