Our annual reports give full details of our progress each year and are distributed at our Annual General Meetings in June.

Feasibility and environmental studies

We have commissioned a number of studies by professional consultants: Stantec, Ove Arup & Partners,  W.S. Atkins PLC and Ed Sharkey & Associates.

Stantec Report:  Hatherton Canal – Water Supply Study  (2020)

Stantec UK Ltd. was engaged by the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust Limited in its professional capacity as environmental specialists to to quantify the potential water supply demand (WSD) and identify the water supply sources (WSS) to enable the restored Hatherton canal to be used for navigation.

Atkins Report on the Lichfield Canal  (2009)

W S Atkins PLC was engaged by the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust Limited to undertake a study and report on the feasibility of restoring the Lichfield Canal. The report was published in July 2009.  An Executive Summary is published here and the full report may be downloaded.


Arup Report on the Hatherton Canal  (2006)

Please note that due to the burden of environmental constraints the Arup Report sections 3.25 – 3.29 and Drawing nos. 13 – 16  have been formally replaced by new proposals defined below.


Atkins Supplementary Report on the Hatherton Canal  (2009)

he Trust commissioned W S Atkins Limited to undertake a Supplementary Feasibility Report on an alternate route to connect with the northern Birmingham Canal Navigations via the former Lord Hay Branch on the Wyrley & Essington Canal.
Published in February 2009.  

This report acknowledges its dependence on the Arup Report in other respects.
