Leave a lasting legacy with a gift in your will

By leaving a gift in your will, you would be helping us to restore our canals and preserve their heritage, whilst also improving the environment for future generations and for wildlife. Your gift will therefore leave a lasting legacy.
Your loved ones come first, but when you make or update your will it’s easy to add LHCRT as a beneficiary.
You can choose to leave:
- a specific sum of money, known as a pecuniary gift, or
- a share of what’s left of your estate after your family, friends and other bequests have been taken care of, also known as a residuary gift. The advantage of a residuary gift is that it will not lose value over time.
You could also name a particular item in your will; for example, a boat or a piece of jewellery or even some land.
If you have already written your will, you can make a provision for a legacy to LHCRT by adding a codicil to your existing will.
