The Pinch Point problem at lock 23

Lock 23 is a big headache for us but we are determined to restore as much of it as possible.

In our latest video we discuss the options for restoration of Lock 23, which runs alongside the Lichfield Southern Bypass at St John’s Grange. The canal has numerous challenges in this area, due to the tight space created by neighbouring properties and the new road, which has led to a ‘pinch point’.

Engineer Peter Buck discusses the plan involving significant engineering precision to ensure that we can successfully integrate the lock into the current infrastructure.

The next step is to get detailed plans drawn up as part of the planning application.
