The Wesleyan Foundation’s Climate Action Grant, has awarded us funding to help towards the completion of Darnford Moors Ecology Park.
The Climate Action Grant was launched by the Wesleyan Foundation earlier this year, with the twin goals of protecting and improving the environment and combatting the effects of climate change. Three charities received support, totalling £74,000 between them, and we were pleased to be awarded £21,350.
Wesleyan Foundation’s support enabled our visiting volunteer teams to create new footpaths, as well as enabling our main contractor to install waterproof lining materials in the final 100 metres of the Lichfield Canal at Darnford Moors Ecology Park. The water stored in the canal will contribute to flood attenuation and the biodiversity of the canal will help to capture carbon, preventing further carbon releases from land that would be flooded downstream.
