Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place on Friday, 6 June 2025, bringing together members, volunteers, and supporters to reflect on the past financial year (December 2023 – November 2024) and outline future goals.
Held at Park View Centre in Brownhills (not far from Ogley Junction) and streamed online, the event covered key updates on the restoration, financial and other trustee reports, and trustee elections, and launched the 2024 annual report.
Key Highlights:
- Chair’s report: Carole Mills emphasised the dedication of volunteers and the progress made across LHCRT sites, highlighting the importance of continued community involvement, with reference to the newly published annual report.
- Trustee reports: Trustees outlined the progress on construction, environment, planning and stakeholder relationships, membership and marketing.
- Financial overview: The Finance and Funding Trustee presented the accounts for the year ending 30 November 2024, ensuring transparency in funding and expenditures, with a focus on securing future resources.
- Trustee elections: Carole Mills and Bob Williams were re-elected as trustees, reaffirming their commitment to LHCRT’s mission and leadership.
- Future Plans: The meeting also outlined upcoming restoration projects, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising initiatives aimed at advancing LHCRT’s mission.
After the formal business, guest speaker local historian Jonathan Oates, known as “Victorian Jono,” shared fascinating insights into Lichfield’s rich history, offering attendees a deeper appreciation of the city’s heritage.
Attending the AGM, Councillor Richard Cox, cabinet member for community engagement, said:
“This is Volunteers’ Week and we’re in a room here of 100% volunteers. I think it would be remiss of me not to thank you all for volunteering in our district. Volunteering is one of the most vibrant and exciting things that we have in the Lichfield district – that makes it a great place. So on behalf of the council, thank you very much.”
