We are taking part in the wonderfully festive annual Lichfield Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival and encourage you all to visit and vote for your favourite tree.
Our tree stands out with its unique canal-themed decorations, which have all been made by our volunteers.
The decorations include miniature narrowboats and bridges, including the Lichfield Canal Aqueduct all on a blue ribbon canal. Each ornament tells a story of the Trust’s projects and community displays.
Visitors to the festival can admire our tree and learn more about our significant work in reviving the historic canals, by scanning the QR codes on display.
Christine Howles, LHCRT Communications and Marketing Trustee, said:
“We are thrilled to be part of the Lichfield Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival again this year. Our tree has been sponsored by our member and volunteer, Amanda Hilmarsson-Dunn, and is a reflection of our dedication to restoring the canals, and enhancing the natural environment for the benefit of the community.
“Our wonderful marketing team volunteers have designed and made the decorations, and then spent time decorating the tree beautifully. We hope it inspires visitors to support our efforts and join us by becoming members or volunteers.”
The festival runs from Saturday 30 November to Sunday 5 January 2025, and is open to the public during visitor hours. Attendees are encouraged to vote for their favorite tree, with proceeds supporting the Friends of Lichfield Cathedral.
