Donations to help us with our restoration project are always very welcome, whether they are for a specific appeal (and we have several - see below) or for general purposes.
100% of the money donated is spent on the work of the Trust.
For more details click on the name of the appeal or the picture.
The Regular Giving Scheme was launched in November 2003. Supporters can choose whether to make a donation to the Land Fund or the general Restoration Fund.
A donation of £20 to The Brick Appeal pays for a square metre of bricks to help with restoration of locks and other features. Donations of £20 or more will receive a miniature presentation brick.
In 2007 we launched the "500 Club". For just £12 a year members get four chances of winning prizes up to £400 and our Restoration Fund stands to be boosted by up to £3,000 each year.
In 2001 the David Suchet Appeal was launched to raise funds to provide motorway crossings for both the Hatherton and the Lichfield canals. Donations flowed in from supporters and sympathisers all over the country in response to this cry for help.
In 2009 a new David Suchet Appeal was launched with the aim of raising the first £1million towards opening the Lichfield Canal as far as Darnford.
In 2015 it became necessary to refocus the David Suchet Appeal in order to raise £1million towards a new tunnel under the Lichfield to Birmingham railway line.
Otherwise 25 years of successful restoration might be “stopped in its tracks” and placed beyond reach!
In 2017 at the London Boat Show the Tunnel Vision Appeal was formally launched by David Suchet, now with a firm target date of early 2019. By this time £150,000 had already been raised.
