“Feet of Clay” Appeal

“In 1762 Brindley demonstrated his technique for keeping the water in the canal to members of Parliament. A mixture of clay and loam (soil) and water was made into a smooth paste. This was used to line the bottom of the canal. This mixture in layers was effectively watertight.”

Lichfield Canal Pound 27 by Tamworth Road is ready for progressive watering, with puddled clay lining preferred where there will be much boat activity in a confined area.

The Feet of Clay Appeal has achieved it’s objective and is now closed so we urge you now to consider David Suchet’s  Tunnel Vision Appeal.
