Restoration of the Lichfield & Hatherton Canals requires substantial capital expenditure on land purchase and rebuilding structures. Our 500 Club gives members the chance to win prizes of up to £400 every three months!  50% of the 500 Club income will be retained for capital expenditure essential for restoration of our two canals… and 50% is paid in prizes to its members.

We make the draw in March, June, September and December and we will notify you if you win. The results are also announced in Cut Both Ways magazine and here on the web. Note however, we are unable to make the draw until all the bank statements come in from Unity Bank. That's the only way we know that all the Bankers Orders have been honoured and can cause the draw to be delayed by a few weeks.

Once again there has been little change in the number of subscriptions to the ‘500 Club’ since the last draw. However, a rise in the number of ‘500 Club’ members would mean an increase in the contribution to the Capital Fund and also the amount of prize money available. So please spread the word; anyone can join the Club, you don’t have to be an LHCRT member.

For enquiries please email  500Club@lhcrt.org.uk

Obituary to Mavis Moore

It is with much sadness we report the sudden passing of Mavis Moore on 26th March after a brief illness. Mavis had administered the 500 Club since its inception in 2007, always ensuring that the Club Membership records were fully maintained and  managing the  annual renewals with great care. She played an active role in the Trust’s Marketing activities and in her local commuinity in Whittington, Lichfield, all roles that will be difficul to fill where she will be much missed. Until a successor is appointed, any Club correspondence should be sent to the Finance Director as detailed in the Directors page or to 500Club@lhcrt.org.uk.
